The evolution of Xikar’s Stratosphere lighter is here. Normal butane lighters have the reputation of not working at altitude, which is a problem if you’re looking to enjoy a stick at the top of a mountain. Luckily, the mad scientists and engineers at Xikar have improved upon the original Stratosphere lighter.

Xikar Stratosphere II is a high altitude and water- resistant lighter that is up to any task you set before it. I'm a big fan of Xikar,I like their products and love their no frills warranty. I found this Stratosphere 2 for a great price as well.Cost was great for a quality lighter its wind resistant,so wind resistant that it lights in heavy winds with ease. My order quickly within 4 days of me placing it. If you're looking for a quality lighter thats wind resistant,at a decent cost look no farther.

One of the few torch lighters that I own that is reliable... So many are pain in the arses! That Bugatti Vulcan is hands down the top of the line in my opinion. For 1/4 the price, can't go wrong.

I have several fancier lighters. This lighter is better than them all. It never goes out in the wind. I refill it a little more often than some other lighters, but not excessively so. If I had to take just one lighter on a trip - this would be the one. It’s a great low cost and hi quality choice. I’ve already give two away as gifts. If you want bling-buy something else and pay too much.

Bought 2 of these now. The first one worked without fail at 6500 feet until the self opening lid got tweaked in my pocket and snapped the hinge. The new one is not self opening and the improvement is appreciated. Still burning after a year at 6500 to 14,000 feet.

Hello gang, just received the Xikar Stratosphere II and this is a beautiful work of art. (Clear model).It is the perfect case size with an indentation to easily allow opening the lid and the inner hinge spring does the rest of the work for you.This the most smoothest and simultaneously robust torch flame I have ever seen.While I won't be on any Nat.Geo. adventures in sea or high altitude, I nonetheless recommend this model to any cigar enthusiast. Xikar is my go-to lighter brand.Well done Xikar, thanks again, C.I.you guys always pull off the big one!
