Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic Pipe Tobacco
Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic Pipe tobacco combines ripe, mature tobaccos with French and Dutch liquors to create a rich, pleasantly aromatic experience.
Smoked this tobacco since 1964 when I was offered a bowlful by the local retailer, has never bit which was a problem with so many of the tobacco's I had used prior. People tell me they love the smell of it and once at a flea market had 2 little old ladies follow me for several stands just to tell me they loved the smell. In my home state it is impossible to find it in the stores so luckily I have found the supplier on line to continue my long tenure of its use. It is mild and moisture is right balance. Highly recommend this tobacco.
I love love love this blend. It reminds me a lot of what my grandfather smoked. A lot of pipe snobs don't like the aromatics. I am NOT one of those people. Smoke what you enjoy is what I say. The aroma of the tobacco is enjoyable in and of itself. When you smoke it the flavor is not overwhelming. It's subtle and very enjoyable. This blend leaves an amazing room note that everybody in my family loves. Though I enjoy many blinds from my local tobacco shop. This is my go-to blend.
The Sir Walter Raleigh that I like! I tried the regular, and just didn't like it; but I vowed to try the aromatic version, and I'm glad I did! When you first open the pouch, you take in a pleasant aroma of a sweet tobacco. However, this tobacco isn't artificial tasting at all. A very smooth smoke, you can smell and taste the liqueurs used in this blend. I like aromatics, and this is a great one without being overpowered with any single taste (ie: vanilla or cherry). This would be a great option for any occasion; it will definitely be in my regular rotation from now on!
I'm not sure exactly how to describe this one. It is a good tobacco, so if you have reservations about buying it, you will not be disappointed. It is not sticky and over moist like some aromatics, but just right in moisture, sweet, good smell when lit, great smell in the tin, no bite, and i love the flavor. The flavors stayed with me all the way down, and it stayed lit all the way down. Some people dislike aromatics because they are sticky and bite. This one does not. This is probably my new favorite. Try some guys.
Very aromatic, but I would not smoke it to the bottom. A bit dry and with a strong after taste.
First of all, I built a private patio (man cave) on top of my roof. At the end of my work day, I would be here huffing and puffing on Sir W.R.A.P.T. This stuff is worth every of my hard earned pennies. Who's your puff Daddy?
I must say that while SWR is a constant go to tobacco in my cellar... I recently got a pouch of this with a sampler from CI. I was very impressed. It has a slight fruity sweetness.. not overbearing.. you can still tell it is from the house of SWR.. but it is a ribbon cut... but ads a nice change of pace. I smoke pretty hard.. but I rarely get any bite. I would recommend trying a pouch.. you just might be suprised
