Rocky Patel Vintage, A masterpiece.

In the "cigar community" (is it me or is there a "community" for everything these days?), Rocky Patel's Vintage Series of cigars have been blazing hot. For good reason. This Vintage '90 blend is nothing short of masterful: complex and smooth, with layer after layer of deep box-pressed flavor. With these beauties, the wrapper tobacco is the key ingredient. In fact these wrappers are incredible. Let me explain:

Vintage 1990 is a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan Ligero draped in a tantalizing natural Broadleaf wrapper from Honduras. It's medium-bodied and box-pressed with a really enjoyable, complex smooth-rich flavor.

To accompany its spot within the world's Top 50 Cigars, Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 received a '92' rating! "Long and box-pressed with a dead-even burn. Upfront notes of mint and licorice warm to show leather, toast and espresso with a sweet finish that smacks of cocoa powder and almonds."

Cant say much more than one of my all tome favorite cigars is the vintage 90. Excellent in every aspect. Its construction, aging, choice of tobaccos, and its finish remains the best I have had to date. I hope they never run out.

A flavorful cigar from Rocky. Dark reddish brown mahogany wrapper. 4 of the 5 cigars burned even for about 35 to 45 mins. Pretty spicy but not too much nicotine for ones nerves. Good cigar no doubt.

My palate isn't educated enough to say 'hints of black pepper and hay burned on a Tuesday evening while standing on one foot' like some people. For me, they are spicy, always burn evenly, and are a great deal when they are on sale or my 'make an offer' is accepted. Rocky Patel creates great cigars, I have yet to smoke an RP that disappointed me. These are my default cigar with a Burbon or Scotch.

Usually Rocky Vintage 90 robusto are very good but I guess I got a bad batch. A few were good the rest so far very bitter, could only smoke half. I tried one as soon as I received the package then a few weeks later after sitting in my humidor (70/70); they haven't improved. I'm hoping the ones I have left will be better after resting some more. I still will purchase more in the future. Thanks, y'all are great.

RP 1990 Robustos are my go-to but I only usually buy them on sale, often the factory seconds from CI. Took a chance on this larger format (discounted) and am very pleased. The flavor is what I've come to expect but the burn is also surprisingly even and has a great draw.

For those craving an attractive oily cigar with a well balanced yet sophisticated earthy notes look no further. The burn is even and the draw is effortless.
