Rocky's done it again.
After Rocky introduced Decade (10th Anniversary) the praise was unanimous, with many critics citing it as his best blend yet. But that was before he released the 15th Anniversary. Capping off 15 years of continued success in the cigar business, the 15th Anniversary goes above and beyond any of Rocky's previous offerings.
A truly delicious morsel, each 15th comes draped in a flavorful Ecuador Habano wrapper, concealing a long-filler core of lush Nicaraguan tobaccos and binder. This recipe yields a wonderfully balanced and extremely smooth cigar that delivers with every puff. No doubt Rocky's finest creation, the 15th produces savory notes of cocoa, espresso bean, and spices behind a long sweet finish. Throughout the slow burn expect the intensity to build, inching toward a bold satisfying crescendo.
Rocky Patel 15th Anniversary has impressive resume. It was awarded the #6 Best Cigar of 2011, scoring 93-points. It was again honored as a Top 25 Cigar of 2018, landing at #20, scoring 92-points. One such review noted: "The Ecuadoran wrapper that covers this cigar combines with the Nicaraguan tobacco on the inside to produce a medium-to-full-bodied smoke redolent of nuts, chocolate, oak and vanilla."
This is a great cigar from Rocky that doesn't get the love it should.
I think a few people misinterpret a harsh or nicotine taste to how "heavy" or "full" a cigar is. Rocky Patel has ALWAYS been known to have a medium to medium full cigar WITHOUT feeling that nicotine. It is medium full in flavor, not in that "buzz". With that being said, there is a reason this cigar is so great and deserved a 93....Buy it.
These are great smokes. Full-bodied, full-flavored. Its one of the best in the RP line.
Excellent cigar. This is my favorite RP (though I have not tried the Decade yet), and easily on my top 10 favorite cigar list. I really dont get into describing flavors with fruits, and deserts. But there is a lot of flavors coming out of these stogies. These will be a mainstay in my humi.
Had a RP 15th Anniversary Toro in one of my humidors for 18 months from a Halloween Mummylode deal in 2012. Paired it with 4 fingers of Knob Creek 9 Year Single Barrel Reserve and settled in for the ride. Amazing falls short of an accurate description. The next 80 minutes of my cigar smoking life was pure bliss. Appearance alone made it known this stick was going to be good. Flawless construction, beautiful chocolate looking wrapper with a slightly reddish hue and it looked like it had been triple-capped. Obvious cigar science applied in the build. Pre-light light aroma was a blend of cocoa, a hint of spice and cedar. Punch cut and the draw was perfect. First inch or so brought volumes of smoke that was smooth and creamy, coffee with warm spice. The spice mellowed to the smoothest mocha and leather I've ever experienced. Slight sweetness on the finish. Throughout the cigar never got overly complex but perpetually delivered incredible balanced flavors of cocoa, leather and mocha. To the nub, it burned razor sharp and cool. Although I'd say it was medium in body, overall it was likely one of the most enjoyable cigars I've ever had. It easily matched the Decade in flavor and performance and justified the price it demands. The RP 15th made me rationalize having a couple more resting for the future. Excellent cigar.
very good stogie! i don't think its as full bodied as it says, but quite possibly my favorite patel so far! admittedly, i have not had a tenth to compare it to.
Not enough flavor, mild at best....
Perfect construction, it's one classy son of a gun.
Simply amazing.... full bodied and stunning... I had my first about a year ago from a local brick and mortar (this cigar was too good for the internet). Im saving up to buy a box now... only thing I would recommend is to eat a heavy meal prior to smoking this is nothing like the decade (one of my ATF).
