Beauty may be only skin deep - but ugly runs right to the bone!Rex Britannia cigars look like mongrels but these 100% natural handmades are perfect in-betweener knockaround 'gars. Their questionable looks derive from the fact they're freehand rolled without using molds. But they’re actually nice little gems made with quality tobaccos and a slightly sweet tip. Think of this as your fishing or golf cigar....and at these prices it is almost impossible to go wrong.
Requires some extra effort to light evenly. Construction and draw vary from cigar to cigar but usually a consistent even burn. Some extra effort/attention is required to keep lit but heavy white smoke is the result. Very white ash. Mild strength with medium flavors. Very sweet tip, almost artificial tasting at the beginning, but does subside quickly as you smoke. Dark smooth tobacco flavor with hints of coffee, cedar and caramel. No spice but an ever so slight bitterness on the finish, increasing if smoked too fast. Flavors remain consistent from beginning to the end.
These are great little cigars, a little sweet, I love them. They are about a 30 minute smoke, very consistently good. Thanks, Chris
I got a brick of the Rex Britannia's a little over a month ago and was very impressed with both its flavor and aroma/bouquet. It comes in a neat tin that is quite decorative and good for carrying a few along with you. I found their strength to be mild. The sweetness of the tip may be too sweet for some but I was not turned off by it. I somewhat compare it to the Bandido in terms of taste and aroma/bouquet. It is mild as compared to the Bandido and its aroma/bouquet is less pungent. I really like/enjoy this cigar and have 5 more bricks ordered that are scheduled to be delivered on 9-11-2012. So, that's 200 cigars. Why, did I order so many? Well, I gave a couple to 2 of my cigar smoking Buddies and they loved them too. So, I ordered enough for all of us.
Now I'm not trying to say that these are the same quality as a Macanudo, but I can say that I bought these instead of Ascots for quick smokes at work, and they do the job just as well. They aren't cosmetically as pretty, but they are a good smoke and one hell of a value. So if you go into it with the right expectation, this is an awesome quick smoke. I was very satisfied with the draw, burn, flavor, and consistency. Can't ask for a lot more than that.
For the price, they ain't bad...not great, but not bad. They ARE a tad ugly, packed a bit loose and they don't burn very evenly. The taste isn't one of the best but I've had worse. Good for workin' in the yard or for the commute home from work. Like I said, for the price..."not bad"
A decent little smoke, not keen on the initial sweet taste from the wrapper but after that goes away a good flavor. It was almost impossible to get a good draw and keep it lit until I realized they need to have the tip cut just like a regular cigar....wow what a difference that made....one match and you are good for the whole cigar. After smoking a tin I will buy again.
These babies are an excellent short smoke - well constructed and they taste like a real cigar ;-) Amazingly good for the price!
Hard to keep lit, hard to get a draw, bad taste. The sweet taste comes from the wrapper and leaves the taste on your lips. I would recommend not wasting your money on them.
I recieved a shipment of these in today. I was pleasantly surprised. For the price they are great cigars. Me and my friend smoked a few on the golf course and they all enjoyed them. Yes they are very sweet but after a puff or two they mellow out and are nice little cigars for a quick smoke.
These cigars are sugar capped and not for me....
Although I love my 50-60 size cigars I have been looking for something smaller and less expensive to smoke while fishing, mowing the lawn etc... When these QE2 came in yesterday I tried one right out of the truck and was taken comepletely by surprise. In the first place the write up never said anything about there having a sweet taste - but they do. Anyway I think I found what I was looking for.
