Orlik Golden Sliced Pipe Tobacco

I was comparing this between Paterson Elizabethan mixture which are my two go to smokes, this one edges better on being smoother flavor.

This is a flake tobacco consisting solely of mild Virginias. Upon opening the tin you are presented with a sealed paper box that contains the tobacco. The scent is Virginia all the way with a hint of citrus being noted. The scent immediately reminded me of Mac Baren Navy Flake and Virginia Flake tobaccos, while the appearance of the flakes are a tad lighter than the Mac Baren. I rubbed out one flake (noting it was a bit moist and was concerned about it burning to wet) and that made a wee bit more than a bowlful in my pipe using the 3-step pack. I admit to getting greedy and packing a bit tight and it burned hotter than it should have as a result. The smoking experience is indeed as advertised with the only (minor) complaint being a slight bite, yet the smoke is surprisingly smooth, with the grassy Virginia shining thru to the very bottom of the bowl. No pipe gurgle (and I'm a lipper to be sure!) and an average nicotine hit. A very nice all-day smoke for those who like non-aromatics. No room note to be considered and I doubt non-smokers would have serious offense. Bottom line: this is indeed a top notch flake tobacco. Not too strong, velvet smooth, and priced competitive with other flake non-aromatics. Orlik Golden Sliced is going to be in my ongoing rotation of Virginias when the mood strikes me for a really nice bowl and I am not worried about the lack of aroma appealing to the anti-pipe Nazis. 4.5 out 5 stars.

Everybody’s favorite Vaper. I prefer the 3.5 oz tin because of the way the tobacco is rolled. Easy to rub out and burns great.

I’ve liked it before, but my tins usually sit for a while before they get opened. I’m sure it’ll be fine.

It’s great. I enjoy this blend relaxing after church on Sunday afternoons. The blend is smooth,mellow and well behaved. To me it as a sweet grassy taste with a tin note of cut hay.

I had a lot of expectations regarding this blend from online forums. I was not disappointed. It has a smooth, sweet taste of Virginia tobacco without any noticeable toppings or flavorings. I believe everybody who likes Virginias should try this blend. I already purchased 3 more tins for the cellar.

I had read many positive reviews about this tobacco before trying it and they all were correct. I don't usually smoke "virginias" but I made an exception with this one and I'm glad I did. It has lightly sweet smell in the tin, but I wouldn't call it an aromatic. It lit fairly easily and only required a few relights. The flavor was mild with low-moderate nicotine kick. It comes in thin 2" slices and it required 1.5 slices to fill my approx. 2" bowl. The tobacco didn't bite and it didn't leave a harsh taste in my mouth the next day. It was pleasant to smoke and I'll be enjoying many bowls of this tobacco in the future.

I enjoyed this sliced tobacco. I'm new to pipes but realize I like regular tobacco better than flavored stuff.
