Medio tiempo is the phrase of the day. For those not in the know, medio tiempo is not a tobacco varietal, but rather, a sprouting of two leaves that sometimes grows atop a tobacco plant getting the most direct sunlight and thus developing a concentrated strength. Now, not all tobacco plants are deemed worthy enough by mother nature to grow these leaves. In fact, its estimated that only one in ten plants produce these top leaves which makes them rare and highly coveted. Forged Cigars has gotten their hands on some meido tiempo from some Connecticut Habano tobacco plants grown in the Connecticut River Valley and decided to use them create La Gloria Cubana Medio Tiempo!

These Connecticut Habano meido tiempo tobacco leaves have combined with a Connecticut broadleaf binder, fillers from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic and wrapped up inside of a gorgeous Ecuador Sumatra wrapper. The sweetened endcap really mellows this cigar without sacrificing flavor. The smoke is smooth and thick, without leaving too much of a coating. This cigar always burns evenly, and leaves a nice long satisfying ash at the end.

Boasting leave above the ligero level of the plant, I tried not to expect too much. A very enjoyable cigar. FUN is the only way for me to describe this 6x50 stick. Moves well between flavors. Plays well with scotch.. coffee.. wine.. can't really go wrong here.

This cigar is worthy of it’s high ratings and LGC heritage. As a long time smoker of LGC Serie R #7, the MEDIO TIEMPO is a bit smoother, milder, with a sweet taste at the beginning, but gets more robust as you continue. Very pleasing. I think it is a worthy offering in the LGC lineup and has a lower price point. The quality of construction was flawless. Long ash and even burn, even when smoked on a windy Florida beach. Highly recommend.

I have never had a cigar like this in the 20 years I have been a cigar smoker. This cigar has a subtle sweetness from the first puff to the nub. When you put your cut on it you can see different shades of the fillers which I thought was another interesting point. This cigar will be in my rotation forever.
