Joya del Jefe 2-Fer

Packs of 50

Description

It ain't rated 90.... but it is a bargain

"You can put your boots in the oven, but that doesn't make them biscuits." Indeed. Joya del Jefe ain't the world's finest and will not be winning any awards among the chardonnay-and-brie crowd. However, if you're looking for a knockaround, enjoyable handmade at a cheapie price for in-between times, try this one on for size.  It's a bargain, it's very well-made especially for a mixed-fill, and it's subtle. Can't promise you anything beyond that!

Yep, I gave it a 5-star rating. It is a mild (a bit more than I prefer) but smoke well. Construction is good ash stayed nicely and it has a nice aroma. This is a gem of a cigar for the price point. I have paid so much more for many that are inferior. Such a nice, affordable everyday go to.

Got his with the Po' Boy Sampler and I'm super new to cigars. Of all of them this is one of the worst made cigars but smokes fast and is stronger than advertised. Maybe my favorite in the bunch despite it's poorly problems.

Guys! Get this off back order! Terrific smoke! Mild, but smokes like a medium. Smoked it down to almost nothing left. Best regardless of the value. ????

Customer Testimonials
Really do like these cigars. Just a regular guy that has a beer and cigar every day and don't want to break the bank.
RW of Pittsburg, TX
Bought these for a big 'smoke-out' at the command a year ago and they were a good introduction for several to the flavors a cigar can offer. Getting 50 'gars for less than a buck-a-stick, that's what I was looking for. CI has always come through when I'm loading up for command 'smoke-outs' - thanks CI, Joya del Jefe held its own and is a good looking smoke! Nobody knew they were a steal and figured I spent a bunch more dough than I did. Good starter smoke and field expeditious!
MP of Virginia Beach, VA
Received this gar in the Po' Boy 2 sampler. This was even better than the Victor Sinclairs that came in the sampler. I bought the Po' Boy to try a bunch of yard gars for kicking around the garage! These are a bit milder than I prefer, but a good smoke for on the cheap side. I will order these again; not bad, CI, not bad at all.
AD of Callensburg, PA
Excellent every day smoke that won't break your bank. Definitely the best of the 2-fers currently offered. I tried others and keep coming back to these. I could say some more good things but don't want them to raise the price! Give them a try.
PG of Flower Mound, TX
I did not expect much for less than a buck a stick. Most of these cigars were not rolled very well, had distinct color difference from one another and burned incredibly fast, but occasionally I would grab one that made my purchase worth it. These had many flaws but they served the purpose of an everyday smoke that you dont mind handing out at a party.
KM of Lindenhurst, IL
Best inexpensive cigar I've smoked. Great for everyday use.
DH of Montrose, CO
Father in law chews them and he loves them. I smoked one and it was pretty good. For a cheap smoke, great deal!
TH of Tompkinsville, KY
Bought two of these as my first cigars ever. I've never smoked anything before these, other than a few crappy cigarillos. These are great, especially for first smokes! My palate isn't as refined, but I will say it is very consistent, burns well, and tastes pretty good. For the price, ya can't beat 'em. I'd recommend it as a first cigar, or as something cheap for everyday use. Definitely will buy a case of them!
NH of Halethorpe, MD
Found these cigars to be very pleasant. Good taste, texture and draw. Worth the money.
WC of Dundalk, MD
Amazing quality for the price. Everyone burned well, had a great draw and taste. Too say I was surprised is an understatement. I highly recommend this cigar to anyone looking for a cigar for under a buck that taste and burns like you paid much more.
DB of AVON, IN
I bought so bundles of a few months ago when I woke up in horror to find my humidor empty (save for some Cuban sandwich fillers I will never make the mistake of buying again) so I scoured CI looking for some cheaper humidor stuffers. I finally settled on these, still wary over the price tag. (How good could a $1 cigar possibly be) That wariness increased when I held it and it felt light. I squeezed it and it gave far too much. But oh well, bought Em may as well smoke them. Glad I did. Are they Montecristos?...no.... they may not even be Nat Sherman's, but a buck a stick still buys you a silky wrapper, notes of cedar with a nice complexity at a strength that won't leave your head spinning (though the price still leaves me befuddled.)
JS of SIMPSONVILLE, SC
I bought the 2 fer 39.95 on the Robustos. I am smoking my 10th out of the first bundle of 25 and I must say they are a mighty fine everyday smoke. They ain't no top notch stogie but I ain't a top notch guy either so we go together pretty good.. Thank you CI for the deals.. A deal is a steal, Merry Christmas.
JW of Coal Township, PA
Just received my order a couple days ago. I must say CI did it again order came in before expected in excellent shape. Now to the cigars cannot believe the quality of these cigars. They smoke a little fast that was expected, but no bitter or uneven burn. I smoked a punch last night and thought to myself I should have gotten a Joya instead. Thanks again CI for a great value bundle will be ordering again!!!!!
JB of Gulfshores, AL
I'm 8 deep into a 50 rack, I've yet to have a single issue with this gar. Sure it's rolled a little loose and burns a bit on the fast side but all 8 that I have smoked have burned completely even. No big heart punch from the gar def a mild stick but well worth the price for a weekend knock around gar.
RG of HUDSON FALLS, NY
Got my 2nd order and still wonderful smoke. I do love an Alec Bradley or a Cohiba but for an everyday smoke, you just can't go wrong.
JP of Crab Orchard, KY
....they hold their own with $8 smokes. They are a great, mild, anytime cigar. Try a bundle and you'll wonder why you're paying more for a lesser smoke.
ST of Athens, AL
Have to agree with JH from Texas, this little guys NEED to rest in the humi for a good amount of time. A few days to let them recover from shipping is NOT enough. If you take one off the truck, you are going to get some definite, fairly off-putting harshness, almost cigarette harsh (my mistake for being impatient). After another week I tried another. Cedar flavors started coming through a little more, but still had that harshness on the finish. The rest have been sitting for 3 weeks now and I'll be giving them at least another 2 weeks before I go back. I'm betting big that the longer these sit, the better they'll mellow.
JG of HOISINGTON, KS
Just an update on these, I know I reviewed these at least two years ago because my order history goes back to 12/20/2010 and I purchased these prior to then. So I fired up a robusto size and (same thing,) only a wee bit better for the age. Think about this, there are 21 fan mail reviews, and NOT ONE of them is bad. When was the last time you've seen this happen on CI, not to mention pertaining to an under a buck cigar! That is a pretty damm fine stat. The loose is still just enough that they burn pretty quick, but you have a few benifits here, they stay very cool, draw very easy, always burn even and if you like to let that smoke roll up through the nose the cool easy draw makes that very pleasent. The nose is highly important to me. Want a great inexpensive, "not cheap," Gar? 21 good reviews and counting. Ya!
RD of Wausau, WI
Very nice, mild cigar. Classic Connecticut flavors...solid and worth every penny.
KD of Burleson, TX
I just received the churchills and am very pleased.I did have one unwrap as I took it out of the plastic but I put the blame on me for that. These are a great outdoor smoke as that was all I was looking for. Great taste that finishes like it starts. Will buy more for sure.
DE of Plainfield, IL
If you like the white pepper taste, this is it. Perfect strength; has flavor but isn't belligerent about it. Burns well. Not bad at all, if that's the flavor you like.
AP of Rochester, NY
The Joya del Jefe's are truly the best sub-$1.00 smoke I have ever enjoyed. Some are a bit 'loose', but hey, so are some women, and that doesn't mean they aren't good. Just ordered my second two-fer bundle of fifty, and used the money I saved to buy a few 'high dollar' smokes to throw in the rotation once in a while. Truthfully though, these little jewels pretty much fill the bill in every way, and I have enjoyed every single one I have smoked. I don't think any budget minded cigar lover could go wrong wih these. I am pretty much convinced my future orders will be "Joya del Jefes" and a few other brands thrown in for good measure. Thanks, CI, for offering me a way to stretch my cigar dollar.
RC of Lampe, MO
Hey, got to agree, after about 17 years my tastes have changed, right now I'm into a nice morning cigar I've got only four Conn, wraps Torano Casa Magna, 5 Vegas Gold, Greycliff G2 & Padilla, I ordered a bundle of the robustos have only let them sit 2 weeks and love em, (that is for a buck a stick.) They are loose and burn a tad quick, but like the one gent said you don't get a headache from having to hyperventilate to smoke em. The other great thing is the nose for inexpensive they really do I dare say "shine." I'll let em sit now for a few more months and have high hopes. Great bang for the buck, compare to some of the 38 to 40 ring shorty's these burn not a lot longer, draw better and taste better.
RD of Wausau, WI
I have found my every day smoke good flavor good burn and a great draw. The one killer for me is a hard draw and these draw wonderfully and the price... I smoke two to three a day.
JG of Garden Grove, CA
We just opened the bundle and fired up two. Our initial impressions are as follows: 1. They burn nice and even. 2. The draw is smooth and consistant. 3. Billows of smoke with great ash formation. 4. This is a mild smoke that is not robust but certainly acceptable. 5. At $.80 each these things are a killer. Do not let the price scare you. These are in the same league as say a John Bull, but for less $. Perfect sticks to hand out to the occasional cigar smoker, or just to play high roller. Most people will figure these as decent $4.00 cigars.
KG of Acton, ME
I really wasn't expecting much to come of the Joya Del Jefe cigars after the whole " not 90 grade but 90 cents " advertizement approach, but I am pleasently surprised. I purchased the double Corona 6. x 46 which turned out to be like a mid sized Churchill, and like Maxwell house coffee these things are good to the last drop. I'll definitely be putting a couple of boxes away for a cigar rainy day.
FV of IIGrants Pass, OR
Ok, they are ugly, have an unpleasant pre light draw and are dirt cheap. But suprisingly don't taste half bad for mixed filler smokes. I got these to smoke at work, I wouldn't pass them out to my friends but they are worth a $1 a piece.
AB of Jacksonville, FL
The product description say it all. Joya del Jefe it isn't the best, but it is a pretty good cigar. On the mild side, but it has a really nice draw and a decent taste. I will definitely keep these and buy another to to share with friends as a gateway. A very good deal when considering the price.
JO of Tucson, AZ
You have to be patient with these cigars...put them in you humidor for a minimum of 6-8 months; I tried one out of the bundle in December 07...rough. On this date August 26th, 2008, I pulled one out with a humidity of 70% from one of my humidors of "long stash for 1 dollar cigars"...the cigar was very smooth, long ash (grey), no touch ups required. In addition, I like to pass through the nose...no irritation whatsoever and damn damn but the spanish cedar and notes of cocoa were good! I'd recommend this cigar to anyone who has patience!
JH of Joshua, TX
The only thing I can really say is what a pleasant surprise. (Joya del Jefe) Was a bit iffy on taking up on this deal. Very happy that I did. Another odd thing is that I usually stick to the full flavored cigars. This little 1.00 beauty is a steal. A very good smoke. Very smooth and creamy. If your looking for a good deal on what I felt was a very nice smoke then stop looking. This cigar could easily sell for $5 - $8.00.
GB of pembroke pines, FL
Regardless of price, a truly outstanding stick (Joya del Jefe)
DC of Kingwood, TX
Definately can't go wrong with these (Joya del Jefe). They may not be top shelf but they certainly aren't bottom either. While it's true that they are a little loosely rolled it is also true that they draw very nicely {that means no headaches} with a consistant burn and flavor. Iv'e paid a whole lot more for cigars that I haven't liked near as much. A pleasant cigar with a slight hint of sweetness. Try them.
GJ of Middletown, OH
So, Joya del Jefe literally means in spanish "Jewel of the Boss". Well for this price and quality, it pretty much is. This cigar has a great flavor that is pretty much consistent and in tune with every cigar. This is an excellent buy.
JA of Cincinnati, OH
I normally like a sure thing and a mild to medium body smoke. I am however always looking for a great deal on a long filler Dominican cigar with a Connecticut shade wrapper so I couldn't resist trying a bundle of these Robusto's (Joya del Jefe) and I am pleasantly surprised. They are a tad loosely rolled but otherwise contructed well. If you like a mild but flavorful 30 minute smoke you won't go wrong at a buck or less apiece for these beauties, give em a try.
TK of Buffalo, NY
Recently purchased a box of robusto's (Joya del Jefe) and was pleasantly suprised at the value. These are smooth mild cigars tasting like a much more expensive cigar. Have had a few inconsistant smokes but for $1.00 a piece who can complain.
RB of Ellington, CT
To be honest I didn't expect much from this cigar (Joya del Jefe) but was pleasantly rewarded with a good everyday smoke. I ordered a two-fer and handed some out to friends and co workers. They all liked it too. Some of the batch are rolled a little loose, causing a fast burn. This is a good smoke for the work day when you don't have a lot of time, but want to finish a whole cigar. The folks I handed these out to figured that I paid about 3-4 bucks apiece for these babies. When I told them what I really paid...they were incredulous to say the least. I know of two people who went right out and ordered some. Try this cigar. Of course its not top shelf, but I love the way CI tries to provide a good everyday cigar for the "regular joe" who really doesn't have the budget for premium names.
HF of Port Hueneme, CA
Great Smoke (Joya del Jefe)for the money. I have smoked 20 of these and will not hesitate to reorder. My friends think they are an $8 dollar cigar. HAHAHAHAHA
GJ of Metairie, LA
Just wanted to let you know how great a job you do. I just received my Joya Del Jefe 2-fer order today and of course I was waiting anxiously for it and had to smoke one as soon as I opened the box. I must admit I was reluctant to place the order originally but boy I am glad I did. I have been searching for a place to get great cigars at a great price and I found such a place with Cigars International Rest assured that I will be telling my friends about Cigars International and how great you are and we will all be buying from your site. By the way, the Joya's are a great smoke. Thank you once again and keep up the good work.
