For the love of cigars
Roughly translated, Illusione Fume D’Amour means ‘love smoke.’ Once you encounter this boutique beauty any questions as to the name go out the window. With countless 90+ ratings under their belt since 2005, like a fine wine, Illusione is only getting better with age. Limited production and high grade tobacco combine for what are some of the top-tiered blends on the market today, and Fume D’Amour stays true to that recipe.A truly unique blend, Fume D’Amour uses no ligero, which is typically the tobacco that kicks blends up in body and strength. Instead, expert blending of seco and viso priming’s of the tobacco plant create a perfectly balanced, wonderfully complex full-bodied experience from start to finish. A blend that connoisseurs will flock towards, Fume D’Amour boasts ample refined notes that entertain the senses all the way through. To add to Fume D’Amour’s stellar reputation, it received the #3 cigar of the year honors for 2014.Also, Illusione Fume D’Amour received a well-deserved 95-point rating noting: “The result is a truly delicious cigar with balance and style, brimming with a rich, nutty cashew taste, hints of nougat sweetness and touches of baking spice.”
Great smoke with a smooth taste and fantastic finish. One of the better cigars I've enjoyed.
One of the very best cigars I have ever tried. High quality construction with a good draw. Burned evenly and consistently. These are highly rated in a cigar magazine. They are not cheap, but to me, represent a good value. The high quality makes this a special cigar. Highly recommended.
Amazing smoke. Amazingly close to my favorite Cuban-the Partagas D Number 4, and better construction than the Partagas.
YES! They aint cheap, but you get what you pay for. It's a very nice cigar, well worth trying a 5pk before you send CI a car payment for a box. Go for it.
I bought a five pack of the lagunas based on the 95 point rating and being selected as the number 3 cigar for 2014 by Cigar Aficionado (I prefer a corona or a petit corona). This cigar came without a cellophane wrapper. A beauty to behold with a dark, oily wrapper, it is wonderfully constructed with surprising heft and has a good draw with lots of smoke. It burns perfectly with a startlingly snowy white ash all the way down to the nub where it burned my fingers and I reluctantly had to pitch it out of my car window. I have had two of these so far and this is my favorite cigar that I have enjoyed to date.
Wow, what a ride! My first time with an Illusione, and I can say, it will not be the last. It starts off with a strong kick of pepper for about the first few draws than goes straight into a flavor frenzy of molasses, cocoa, peppermint, hazelnut, cinnamon, and slight leather. Balances nicely, great smoke, and complexity I never experienced before. A true gem and a definite must try.
