Few cigars can match the caliber of Gurkha handmade cigars. Considered to be some of the world's finest and most prestigious super-premiums, the Gurkha brand represents a small-batch selection of ultra-elusive cigars that routinely receive top ratings in addition to 'Best of the Best' honors from the Robb Report.

Always pushing the envelope with exotic, high-end blends, Gurkha got another trick up its mighty sleeve, and it's called the Black Dragon.

Dressed in a dark and toothy, 5-year old Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper, the Black Dragon hails from Honduras and combines a vintage mixture of Dominican long-leaf tobaccos secured within a Cameroon binder. The smoke is thick and chewy, with a rich, leathery core and elegant hints of earth, complemented by an assortment of sweet spices on the finish. Medium in body and complex, yet buttery smooth, the Black Dragon is unlike any Gurkha you've tried before.

A surprisingly good stick. Feels good in the hand. Flavorful, but not overpowering for such a dark Maduro wrapper. I smoked this bad boy down to the nub — which is a testament to not getting bitter towards the end. A solid 2H smoke. Would give it an 89 on my personal scale.

Really fantastic smoke. Very smooth and complex. I caught some hazelnut in the flavor profile, which was really nice. I enjoyed mine with a coffee, highly recommended.

Only gave one star less because they should have been shipped with a boveda pack in the bag. Other than that they are very tasty cigars and got here in one piece and pretty fast.

There are many Gurkha’s but this one is mine! Best yet hands down. It’s a long burn so make sure before you torch one off you have some time. Plan on being surprised by how balanced it really is and excellent with a tall glass of ice tea.

This is a great cigar with a reliable draw. It takes a while to smoke. I have only smoked one, so can’t speak on the consistency or reliability. I had to touch it up once, but really want to emphasize the great draw.

Let them sit in your humidor!!! These big dark cigars will take no less than 45-60 days in there to get back to smokable after ground shipping. I can't stand people giving poor reviews because they take them out of the box and POP them in thier mouth, smoke machine mades for pete sake. Rant over and on to the Black Dragon, it is very rich and creamy with nice notes leather and earth. Sweet spices on the finish that last until the next puff making the experience very enjoyable. If you tried the Black Dragon and enjoyed it, I recommend giving the Regent a try as well.

Excellent Gurkha selection. Medium to full bodied cigar loaded with flavor and a rich creamy smoke. By far, one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. Pair it with a good bourbon or scotch. You won’t be disappointed!!!

I'm sorry to say that the "Dragon" in the Black Dragon really stood out in this 5-pack. It smoked excessively at rest but did not draw well at all. When I was able to get some smoke in my mouth it was mellow but not medium to full bodied. I don't write reviews but the poorer quality of this cigar made me do it. Rolled very well but a poor smoke in my humble opinion.
