El Rico Habano

Description

This is where flavor and price come to live in harmony.

Yes, El Rico Habano – literally, “the rich one” – fully satisfies from start to finish, with its can’t-miss combination of mellow notes of spice and a smooth, fluid draw. This well-crafted handmade is produced by E.P. Carrillo, the same brilliant mind who brought you La Gloria Cubana. The El Rico Habano line is one of the most robust premium cigars on the market, with a delicious, exquisite Havana-like flavor.

The blend is offered with your choice of two wrappers – the lush Ecuadorian Sumatra natural option or a dark and appealing Connecticut Broadleaf maduro leaf. Each one is overflowing with a potent blend of Nicaraguan long-fillers beside a Nicaraguan binder, delivering full-flavored, full-bodied goodness time after time. When you’re looking for the ultimate in flavor, look no further than this classic concoction. But best not to wait around, because my sources say that El Rico Habano isn’t always easy to come by. Get it while you can and keep it on hand for any night of the week.

El Rico Habano received a well-deserved 90-rating noting: "An excellent cigar. Thre is good balance of earthiness and spiciness on a full-bodied smoke. There is a hint of leather on the finish."

Pros - Great conn. broadleaf flavors, nice mix of spiciness and mild sweetness. Very slow burn time, usually get about 2 to 2:15 hours out of a stick. Burns nice and even. Cons - Out of a box of 25 I usually get 4-7 that have a very snug draw, my last box had 4 which had knots about half inch down from the band and 1 i had to toss due to having a knot combined with a couple unusually fat tree trunk stems. These tend to have short and weak ash structures. Despite having low tolerance for construction flaws I enjoy the flavor of these so much I just deal with it using a cigar unplugging tool which fixes the majority of them. If your a broadleaf fan give these a shot.

I have loved these smokes, both the dark & lighter wrapper, for many years. They & Joyas were the fullest body smokes before everybody else jumped on the live to bandwagon. I prefer the torpedoes but for reasons unknown to me, they're unavailable. Always a good draw & burn with big volume of smoke. Notes of cedar, cocoa & very noticeable licorice. Yummies!

my recollection is that these were stronger in years past - partagas black label is my go to and they're not as strong as they are, in my humble opinion - still a terrific stick + in this length, I clip in half and double the pleassh.

Great cigar, full of flavor, well packed with LOTS of tobacco so long slow smoke but the second one out of the box was not smokeable due to no draw whatsoever. Nothing I could do to help get this stick to draw properly. Third one was perfect. Can't judge a box on one bad stick and hopefully it was just a fluke. I've loved these el ricos in years past and this new batch did not disappoint in power and flavor. Other than the sore cheeks from sucking till my eyes bulged (I don't give up easily ), this is a top of my list favorite cigar.

These are Fabulous Just the appearance is menacing to the eyes and taste buds. Dark dense and rich in appearance!! Then the first light and the delight of a slow burning, long lasting Absolutely Delicious smoke. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

When I think of this cigar, I tend to get upset. I've squirreled away but a handful of these for the last bunch of years, and they are true gems. It's upsetting to realize that the supply is dwindling with each one that is smoked. These cigars are imposing and heavy, but once aged, they smoke like no other maduro that I've sampled. I recall the burn being very sharp, with a chunky and firm white ash. I feel these are more medium than full when aged, and the best part of all is the flavor - mellow, a bit of spice - a cigar to sip and not to rush. I think it is time to put some more away for the next eight years!

Customer Testimonials
These cigars will rock your world, great flavors, full body, spicy and will make you dizzy if you aren't ready for 'em. IF they rock your world a little too much, age them in the box that they come in inside a humidified cooler for a couple years, they lose a little of the strength and come into their own in my opinion as a more medium smoke with wonderful spiciness and flavor.

Underrated yes, hard to find too(El Rico Habano). Like the best cuban I've had this smoke needs to burn down a little. After that you can't put it down. Very relaxing.

i want to propose marriage to this corona suprema. (El Rico Habano) this was the best cigar ive had in 2 years.[i'm not over reaching here either]this cigar out classes any of the glorias ive had in recent months, this thing smelled different from the start, very strong earthy tobacco aroma,i hadnt even lit it up, so i put it in my mouth and the first thing i notice is a cayanne pepper explosion ,so i finally lit it up, and kaboom, this thing tasted like a mexican feast with mariachi bands and taquilla shooters, i mean i have never had a cigar as spicey as this ,even more spicey than gran habano.then about 2 inches in with the spice still on my pallet. here comes the whiff of orange peel or lemons ,some citrus taste, then coffee and dark chocolate, all the while that cayanne is still there, all the way to the nub. god i love full body pepper bombs, but the difference here is the type of pepper, no black pepper at all ,this is a underated cigar and one of the most pleasurable smokes ive ever had, 10 years ago glorias were almost this good, this should be the flagship brand.why cant you get a box of these at ci though? only 5 packs and singles ,im going to check everday, for a one day special. i told you i want to marry this cigar.if spice is your thing you will understand.

It doesn't get any better than this (El Rico Habano). A superb smooth full flavor cigar at a reasonable price. These are my all time favorites.
ED of Tallahassee, FL
This is my all time favorite cigar (El Rico Habano)! If you like lots of mellow spice flavor with no bite & a super smooth draw, this is your baby. Take your time with this beauty & you'll think you've died & gone to heaven. Probably the best buy in a premium cigar, but sometimes hard to get.
