The Kentucky Fire Cured line from Drew Estate is an exceptionally unique line of handmades. The original blends pushed the limits of what a “conventional” cigar could be, introducing American fire-cured tobacco leaves from Virginia and Kentucky. And now, from the swamps of innovation, rises the Swamp Rat and the Swamp Thang — the newest additions to the Kentucky Fire Cured lines. 

So what makes these cigars so interesting? Just take a look at them – they’re green! That’s right, Swamp Rat and Swamp Thang each feature a unique Candela wrapper below the band. For the lover's of the KFC line this is another great cigar. It has a good amount of smoke and a perfect draw. The typical smokey campfire aroma still present but not as much as the conventional KFC like the Fat Molly in my opinion. The candela wrapper gives a nice sweet note of green tea and a subtle citrus note. I had a little issue with the burn line but after a few corrections it was okay. Nothing that I haven't seen in a cigar before. I still prefer the original KFC cigar line. It's definitely worthwhile. After all, still a great Drew Estate cigar.

Love the flavor, it’s slightly sweeter than the regular KFC line, but not as sweet as the KFC sweets. Wrapper gives it a more “earthy” twist in addition to the smoke flavor.

It's a full flavored cigar and a full chair relaxer. A quarter of the way into the burn cedar and oaky flavors emerged. Nice even burning smoke. Drew estates is never a let down.

I’m pretty new to cigars, was trying to match this to a pappy, it was a good cigar, however it didn’t hold up to a Pappy did. It had minimal flavor… I would try it again tho.

First timer with this delicious tasting cigar. Feels good, stays lit throughout with and easy consistent draw. Starts out a bit harsh but within 2 minutes the flavor profile presents itself beautifully. Drew Estate MUWAT Kentucky Fire Cured will continue to be one of my regular ‘go to’ cigars. ????????????????????

This has become one of my favorite cigars and was my entry point to the Candela. Since first smoking this two weeks ago, I have gone through about 10 of them. throw in the mix has been LFD Double Claro, and the ilusione 88 (which have both been good), however the Swamp Rat still takes first place for me. Primarily, I like to smoke them in the morning. Burns well, construction is great. taste and power are perfect to start the day.

I've been working my way through a bundle of the Swamp Rats. I've always enjoyed Dark-Fired tobaccos from smoking a pipe as well as the Italian style cheroots. These are not as strong as the cheroots, but they're still pretty obnoxiously full in flavor. I definitely wouldn't recommend smoking one of these if you're planning on smoking any traditional cigars afterward. That said, as a dessert cigar or change of pace, I think they're pretty good. The KFC tobaccos turn the candela into a minor player, just adding a bit of acidity and tartness. I could see this being a very polarizing cigar, but the price is certainly fair. Definitely worth a shot if you don't mind straying away from traditional, cuban-seed black tobaccos.
