I have a 150 count humidor and both of these work great and keep it around 70% humidity. I'm using two for my humidor and it works better than other packs that I've used before. One for 50 count humidor works excellent as well.

CI always does a great job of getting cigars to APO's. The shipping time from date of purchase to date received was 3 weeks, nothing CI could have done differently to get them here quicker but the long shipping time definitely dried out the cigars. CI, perhaps add a few humicare packets to orders shipping to APOs to keep the cigars fresh in transit. Thanks for what you do! Zach

The smiley humidifier is a much better replacement for the sponge type humidifier. It seems to keep a more consistent humidity level than the sponge type with the 50/50 cigar juice mix. A couple of things. I soacked mine in distilled water for about 30 mins before installing. The next day when checking it and the new hygrometer I purchased at the same time, I discovered that the housing 'sploded from over saturated beads. A suggestion would be to slightly reduce the number of beads or design a positive locking feature on the humidifier to keep the beads contained under pressure of expansion. My soluton was to take out a few beads and tape the edges. Other than that, it works well and looks cool. Now make larger rectangular or long oval replacements with the smiley and beads.

Great piece of kit. Keeps my 100 humidor right in the sweet spot. Oh, don't put too much water in, though, the gel beads will expand and try to escape.

Good product for the price!

I set the humidifier in a small dish with distilled water. About 30 mins after I came back, the plastic cover exploded, as the beads had grown too big for the container. I cleaned up the mess with gloves and wipes, threw a little less than half of the gel crystals into the humidifier, and closed it back up for use. CI should probably put about half as many crystals in the container. I think I'll let the crystals in my dish dry out, and put them in a plastic bag. When the humidifier stops working, I'll empty the old crystals, and put the dried ones in. Will likely extend the life of the humidifier by x2. Overall, though, I'm a little upset that no instructions exist for the gel crystal humidifier. People probably need to know to use distilled water, how much water they should use, if the humidifier shouldn't be totally immersed (to avoid weakening the magnet's backing glue), and if the humidifier should be wiped off before use, to avoid excess water getting into a humidor.

Bought this to replace foam humidifier in small desktop humidor and the humidity has been very steady. I’d recommend for a step up from green foam for sure.

I have a desktop Humidor and this keeps it at 55%RH at about 70 degrees F. My other one stopped working and the difference was immediate when I put this one into use. I recommend it.

I seemed to have over filled one of them and it came open in the middle. I'm not sure how much distilled water needs to go into it the first time but I didnt think I over filled it

I think the problem with this humidification product is it's packed with too many of the moisture pellets, so when you add distilled water the pellets expand and the container can’t hold them all and it comes apart. Very disappointing. Instead of returning it, which I should have I used some black electrical tape to hold it together. If this product is going to be sold it needs to be constructed better.

After the crystals absorbed the water, the gel popped the container cover open and overflowed causing a mess. Either too much water was added, or too many crystals in the container?

So, there were no instructions included but I found some on the CITY website, minor hassle. After following them and attaching to the humidor, it fell inside, opened, and the humidifing beads went everywhere inside. I put what I could back inside and had to toss the rest, about 25. Seems to be working now but hard to trust. Wish I had bought a different one.

It was little difficult to get it to absorb the water to start with, but once I gave it enough time, it did great. It is doing much better at keeping the humidity at the proper level than the one I had before

Great product

I have bought several of these over the years. It doesn't last forever but it works well, and the price is very reasonable. I have noticed recently that when you first use it, it will usually open up due to the crystals expanding. I simply eliminate some of the expanded crystals and snap it back into place. The first time will usually take care of it. Eventually as time goes on, the crystals will stop absorbing water and you will need to replace it. It does work very well for the amount of time that it is functional.

A great product,it keeps my humidor humidity in the right parameters.It's real simple to use,if you can hear the balls rattle when it's shaken,it's time to add water.Not like the old style units where you have to go by the weight,and guess if it needs water.I'll definitely get another one when it's time.

Great low maintenance humidifier. Add water once a month and they're good for about a year. I'm on my 3rd one and still have no complaints.
