Ligero-laced, with McTwist! The Daytona continues Cain's employment of 100%, straight ligero blends....however, this one has a twist. Cain Daytona is a Nicaraguan puro made entirely of Cuban-seed, long-leaf ligeros from the Jalapa Valley. Jalapa is a primary resource for smooth, but rich tobaccos....tobaccos often used to help create balance in a full-bodied, full-flavored blend. In using these tobaccos, Oliva created a rich and flavorful blend with noble smoothness and superior balance. Deep notes of coffee and rich tobacco are complemented by the slightest hint of pepper and some sweet tones on the finish. Medium in body but full in flavor, Cain Daytona is a satisfying, anytime treat that'll delight the palate with genuine Nicaraguan boldness.
Hello old friend! It's been about 3 years since I last smoked a Cain Daytona. I grabbed up a 10-pack in a recent Joe's Jam and I am sitting here, after a 5-day rest in the humidor, smoking one of life's simple pleasures! Yes! Cut the cap with my Xi2 cutter, toast the foot with my Bugatti Executive lighter, and then, take that first initial draw and I am in cigar nirvana! Well constructed, nice even smooth draw, clouds of heady smoke engulf my head. This is a nice even burn, tight ash, all the way to the nub. Be careful not to burn your fingers! This is a straight-forward, no-nonsense, 1 hour 20 minute smoke filled with hints of coffee, cinnamon and a dash of pepper in the finish. This was in my top ten years ago and today I am reminded why. A great cigar made even greater by CI's great service and price! Try one. What are ya waiting for!? You will not be disappointed!
a nice light in the sense of not overly strong and mild aromatic cigar, that you will have to find a place to sit down and smoke for 2 hours it takes that long! lol! thomas :)
Corona #4........solid, smooth, and it smokes longer than you would think. Very nice, clean cigar. Don't buy it......I want all of em.
Perfect choice....for tonight. You don't always get the right cigar for the moment. This was one tasty prize. I can be kinda silly the way I nurse a cigar, but this is very enjoyable to play with. Light it up without a puff. Toast it slow to get her started. The first 1/3 changed flavors at least three times. I'm not going put her down for the entire smoke. Beautiful to hold. This stick is made well. Smooth and shinny, no soft spots. Tight, yet easy to draw. Gotta go ....cause I'm going to finish this one till I burn my fingers.
Got a fiver last month and have smoked 2 so far. This is now my favorite from the Oliva family. Perfect draw and even burn. Great balance and doesn't get harsh at all. Perfectly yummy.
I got one of these in a singles order. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and complexity of this cigar. It's definitely worth a look.
Good find! I saw this smoke ranked highly in cigar journal's top 25 of 2011, and just got a couple in a sampler. This is a damn good medium cigar with a clean burn, solid ash, and smooth draw from front to back. Aside from CJ's top 25 honors, the Daytona seems underhyped. My other favorite mediums include the 5 Vegas Classic and Ave Maria. I found more similarities to the Ave Maria, which has a touch more spice than the cinco. The Daytona is somewhere in the middle, but I think it just made it onto the medium cigar winner's podium with the other two.
A good medium-bodied cigar with loads of flavor. Perfect for a day at the beach.
I tried this one stick just because it was number 4 of 25 of the best tasting sticks out there. I am impressed with the smooth flavor and even burn all the way to the nub. I am going to purchase this more in the future, and let my buddies try them, one of my best buddies fell in love with this stick when I gave him one to try out, now his humidor is stuffed with these great sticks. So I always know where to get one for free, nice trade off I think.
Smoking a Cain Daytona 660 as I type. medium to dark brown wrapper. Solid and uniform fell. Great construction. Excellent draw. Flavors are plentiful as this is a solid medium bodied stick. Excellent balance and very enjoyable. Another great line extension to the Cain IMO.
This is a really good stick. Smoked this one to a nub.
This is one of my favorite smokes. Very smooth.
I'm a huge fan of Cain, and i love the peppery kick to this one. Very smooth and satisfying.
Excellent! I bought this one on a whim and I wasn't disappointed at all. Very smooth.
It's no surprise that this is another stellar stick from Olivia. I don't think they could make a weak stick if they wanted. Really smooth and lots of smoke. Strong woodsy flavors from start to finish, not too peppery- which is fine for me. Even burn, heavy ash, will definitely be on my "buy" list- robusto size.
