Ever since he hit the #1 Cigar of the Year with Prensado, you’d guess that Alan Rubin (the founder and chief mind behind Alec Bradley) is blessed. Blend after blend, year after year, his cigars continue to grow in popularity… and the critics continue to love them too, doling out 90+ ratings by the dozen. Today, we shine the spotlight on a release from the 2018 IPCPR trade show: Magic Toast. And to clarify, we’re talking toast of the whiskey kind, not rye or sourdough. 

A strange name to be sure, but one with meaning: Magic Toast is named after a drink shared in one of Honduras’s tobacco fields. But I wouldn’t blame you for thinking it references the blend — this buttery-smooth cigar features a unique mixture of natural tobacco sweetness, chocolate, and hints of cedar. A blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos, Magic Toast fits right into the rest of the AB portfolio, and I’m guessing it’ll find a place in your humidor most easily.

These cigars have quickly become my favorite. The burn on them is a perfect time span. The favors and tones in my opinion leave nothing to be desired. They are a quality cigar with good construction

Great smoke and real chocolate bomb for those lookingfor those flavor notes. Definitely a stronger smoke, close to full, but is still smooth, without being too harsh or overloaded with pepper. Will always find a place for it in my humidor.

Alec rarely disappoints and Magic Toast is another example. It’s always interesting how a name will sometimes draw ( no pun intended) you into gathering hints of the title. The cigar has hints of a burnt toast smell and is definitely full bodied. It smokes evenly and is rolled to provide a generous draw without a rapid smoking experience.

For me this is a well rounded smoke. I enjoy this with either a sipping rum or my bourbon. The construction of the cigar is really well, easy draw an a nice even burn all the way to the nub.

I lit a magic toast this evening to try with a nice bourbon. Immediately I liked it. It has a creamy, almost buttery, aspect right out of the gate. It played very well with the 90 proof bourbon I was sipping. For me the chocolate character came out after sipping bourbon and then hitting the stick. Like the bourbon it had a smooth transition from draw to exhale.

Very nice, flavorful cigar. Even better after a few days rest in my humidor. I just love the dark and oily wrapper. It is a thing of beauty! I hope they put these on sale often! The price is a little bit of an issue for me right now. However at CI's regular price, these beauties are worth every dam penny!
