Aging Vault Humidor

This humidor is a absolute solid, quality piece of woodworking and craftsmanship. I was looking for not only a complete humidor to age and protect the integrity of my collection, but to also obtain a piece of furniture that I could enjoy looking at everyday, and this fits the bill. Even though its aesthetically pleasing, for the price I do have a few issues with the initial functionality of the true purpose which is to act as a humidor. I absolutely loved the idea of having drawers to pull out and gaze upon stick after stick taking a nice cedar nap in blissful conditions! Big problem was the drawers and air gaps. Took HOURS and placed 1/4” window weather shipping on every side of each drawer to get a solid airtight seal. After that endeavor was completed now it maintains a steady 70/70 with relative ease for my Cigar Oasis Magna 3.0 humidifier. The same for the 120v outlet that you install from the back. I also had to adjust the slides and do some shimming on two of the drawers to get them to work better and close properly, for the money I should not have to do that but nothing is perfect. The seasoning process for this took a very long time to complete. Lots of quality cedar in there to slowly absorb the moisture, just took time! Also for when the Magna wasn’t running and moving air I also installed two small USB computer fans on timers to run for a few minutes every hour and keep the humidity from settling. Last but not least is the fact that this will definitely NOT hold 1500 sticks. Once the humidifier is in the bottom it takes up quite a bit of space to where boxes would go, so the stacking goes out the window. I would estimate somewhere between 750 and 1000, closer to the 750 mark. I will take a star away for having to do the little extra work to make it truly hold temp/humidity like it should, but now that its complete and I can see all those lovely’s in there its so worth it. I’m quite happy with the purchase.

This humidor is a beautifully crafted piece of furniture. I don't see how it can hold 1,500 cigars. There are 10 drawers with 24 slots (and large gauge cigars wont fit). Also, depending on the size of the box, the cabinet may hold 20 boxes (netting out the space for an internal humidifier). That gets you to around 750 cigars. That said, I am very happy with the cabinet. It gets the job done. My overflow cigars will just have to be stored in my other humidors.
