Even gramps would be proud.

On a trip to factories in the Dominican Republic some time ago, I was offered a boatload of a really nice, smooth handmade called 1876 Reserve. I’m guessing the manufacturer either drank too much Dominican rum or his abacus was busted. Don’t get me wrong, I certainly ain’t complaining because I think under normal circumstances it would’ve cost me twice as much to buy what I bought (I better remove his name from the mailing list so he doesn’t see this later).

What I do know is that this is an incredibly mellow Dominican cigar that’s well worth our ridiculous 2-fer price. In fact, the buy-in here starts under two bucks apiece! Is that too cheap? Maybe it’s me that’s getting soft in the head. Oh well, if you like easy going cigars, you’ll love this deal.

Looks great burn a little tight taste medium quality middle of the road. Ci mistakes much better. Also Ci mistakes much better than ci fresh rolled. 1876 wrapper splits to often.

Decent smoke, very few dead spots and not wrapped to tight like the Mistakes brand I usually buy. About half of the Mistakes brand can not be smoked, wrapped to tight, dead spots, holes in the cigars.

Good cigar, well built. The only problem is the band which is glued directly to a wrapper. In 90% wrapper gets damaged when band is removed

Give me a match. This is a very good daily stick for the price, but it's even better if you put them in the humidor for about 3 months. They have tendency to tunnel when they're fresh. They have a mild, sweet plentiful smoke. The flavors are leather, sweet spice and toast. Don't rush it, if you puff it slow it's truly a very good cigar. I'm smoking some that have been in my box for a year and I'm choosing the 1876 over my premiums most days. Pair it with whiskey or dark/stout beer.

I have enjoyed the 1876 toro for a long time. It’s priced good for me as I smoke several a day. The burn is pretty good and the flavor is mild but not too week. It does the job for me

This is a well-made cigar. The construction is solid. The wrapper was perfect. Mild to medium flavor with a little spice towards the end. It burns evenly, leaving white ash and beautiful smoke. It was pleasant to be around. Had a slight aftertaste and was a bit too warm for me at the end, but overall, it's a great deal. It was nice to have while doing some outside chores.
